The chinook salmon have returned in masses at the Big Qualicum River. The underwater viewing area is open and lots of fish can be seen in the river as well. There is plenty of bear scat along the rainforest trails through big trees, so keep an eye out for them around dusk. Wait by one of the little rapids below the hatchery bridge to see them jump.
