Music Festivals and Events in the Oceanside Region
Music has its moments in the sun with regularly scheduled performances at a variety of nightspots as well as annual events like the Coombs Country Bluegrass Festival, in early August at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds. Many other musical events are hosted at this venue so be sure to check out our events calendar regularly.
The Old School House Arts Centre, known locally as TOSH, offers Music on Sunday featuring jazz and classical artists. Jazz legend Phil Dwyer, a Qualicum Beach resident, is a regular performer at The Old School House as well as co-producing Jazz in the Garden at Milner Gardens & Woodland every August.
In September, TOSH hosts the Harvest of Music festival that offers workshops, performances, children's concerts, and special events. The Harvest of Music features a variety of musical performances and international artists - in 2006, a taiko drumming ensemble called Saihou Kotengu came all the way from Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan.
For blues enthusiasts, The Rocking Horse Pub in Nanoose Bay hosts Thursday night blues jam sessions that attracts as many as nine talented musicians from the area. On these evenings, some of the tables in the pub are pulled back a bit to make room for a dance area.Be the first to comment on this page.
