Singer/Songwriter Rick Scott with vocalist Andréa L’Heureux and pianist Nico Rhodes

Rick Scott is his own unique genre: an award winning singer, songwriter and actor, and Canada’s leading proponent of the Appalachian dulcimer. Rooted in folk and blues, inspired by Broadway musicals, Pete Seeger and Danny Kaye, his joyous mix of music, storytelling and humour has delighted audiences in 9 countries. Over the course of 35 years he has performed thousands of shows in schools, festivals and concert halls in Canada, the US, Australia and Southeast Asia, released 18 albums and earned a devoted following from four generations. “His gift for enriching and healing the human spirit will not soon be forgotten.” Rogue Folk Review

Joining Rick will be vocalist Andréa L’Heureux, whose astonishing voice heals the heart and uplifts the spirit. Her debut CD HYMNS FOR HER combines original and traditional songs of love, loss and inspiration rooted in her love of classical, pop and sacred. “Like having an angel singing in my living room.”

Nico Rhodes is a full-time pianist/composer/arranger/saxophonist who has arranged a symphony for the music of Rick Scott which was performed by the Vancouver island Symphony Orchestra on February 13th, 2014. He has also worked as musical director for the Chemainus Theatre as well as for musicals in Vancouver.
