The River Run is a 5 km family-friendly trail run/walk or a 10 km trail run through the beautiful Englishman River Regional Park. The event takes place the second Sunday in June, rain or shine, to raise awareness and funds for the Mid Vancouver Island Habitat Enhancement Society (MVIHES).

Bluenose Motors Classic Open Men's Triples Tournament

Looking for something fun and different to do this weekend? Parksville Lawn Bowling Club is hosting the very prestigious Bluenose Motors Classic Open Men's Triples Tournament June 10-12.

You're invited to be part of the fun as you watch skilled lawn bowlers from Vancouver Island and the lower mainland compete for top cash prizes in this very entertaining tournament. Games go at 9 A.M., 11 A.M., 1 P.M. and 3 P.M. on the Friday and Saturday with the semifinals and finals going on Sunday. Check out the club's website for details. ...more info

Wildlife Lunch Kayak Tour

Come for a paddle in Nanoose where the views are fabulous, the wildlife is abundant and the quiet is utterly relaxing. Curious harbour seals pop up their noses and sometimes even follow us as we kayak past their rocky haul-out. We stop for a picnic on the beach, so pack bring you lunch. Sunday, June 12th from 9:45 am to 2:00 pm. Cost is $79 per person.
