Tourism Businesses Sip, Savour & Learn at AGM

Nearly 50 business and community leaders gathered via Zoom for Parksville Qualicum Beach Tourism Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 25th.

After the formal AGM proceedings, Walt Judas from the Tourism Industry Association of BC and Karen Bannister from Tourism Vancouver Island spoke to advocacy being undertaken and industry supports available through the Vancouver Island Coastal Tourism Resiliency Program. Early bird registrants received a selection of local food and drink from Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, Mount Arrowsmith Brewing Company, Bespoke Spirits House, LoveShack Libations, and Misguided Spirits to enjoy during a virtual social hour. Representatives from these businesses spoke about what makes their products unique and how they fit in the local tourism and hospitality industry.

Reports highlighted 2020 challenges along with positive statistics resulting from social media, travel media relations, and other efforts. AGM materials are available for stakeholders to download by logging-into the extranet and going to the Files / Reports tab.
