Parksville & District Rock and Gem Club

Parksville and District Rock and Gem Club is a non-profit group of mineral enthusiasts or Rockhounds! We meet monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at the McMillan Arts Centre, Parksville, from 7 to 9 pm. We have an active lapidary shop in Coombs where members can cut, grind and polish stones to make items for jewelry or other creative products. We offer classes in a variety of topics. Current classes are on beading, making wire wrapped stone rings and making heart shaped cabochons. We explore Vancouver Island for interesting geological formations and rough material for our lapidary shop. We have offered a Pebble Pups program for junior members and their families, when there has been enough interest. We welcome guests and newcomers to come and see how they may become involved.
