Paul is an accomplished singer-songwriter with hundreds of songs: acoustic blues, sea shanties, folk, bluegrass and gospel. He embraces the old-time storytelling tradition where his songs are as much poetry as they are music. Paul is a mainstay of The Islands Folk Festival, as a performer and MC extraordinaire. He has opened for such great Canadian folk icons as Willie P. Bennett, Stephen Fearing, Ian Tamblyn and Ken Hamm. Paul is a founding member of Seadog and Jane’s Way Celtic Band. Since 2011, he has won the Diversity Caravan Song Contest, the Duncan Centennial Song Contest is a three-time finalist and 1st place winner in The Islands Folkfest Song Contest. His song “Little by Little” is a flagship fundraising tune for the What If? Foundation, a non-profit that feeds thousands in Haiti everyday. He was the recipient of a Cowichan Valley Arts Council grant to write a song for their Why I Love Canada Project.
