ECHO Players Open House & Volunteer Demonstration

Have you ever dreamed of being part of the magic of live theatre? Now’s your chance! ECHO Players invites the community to its Open House and Volunteer Demonstration on Saturday, November 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Village Theatre in Qualicum Beach.

This free, drop-in event is your backstage pass to explore the many ways you can get involved—on stage, behind the scenes, or front of house. Whether you're a seasoned theatre lover or brand new to the arts, there's a role for you in our vibrant volunteer community.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Directing – Lead a production or assist as a first-time director.

Acting, Singing, and Dancing – Audition for roles in upcoming shows.

Producing – Support the director and coordinate the production team.

Stage Managing – Oversee rehearsals and call cues during performances.

Program Coordinator – Assemble show programs and liaise with designers.

Marketing Team – Promote shows through media, social platforms, and events.

Box Office – Sell tickets and greet patrons using our digital system.

Lighting and Sound Design/Operations – Learn to run the tech that brings shows to life.

Set Design – Create floor plans and guide the construction team.

Set Construction and Painting – Build and paint the physical sets.

Furnishing and Props – Source and manage props and décor.

Costumes – Design, source, and fit costumes for each production.

Makeup and Hairstyling – Help actors look the part on stage.

Stage Crew – Assist with scene changes and backstage logistics.

Social Committee – Organize cast parties and community events.

Front of House and Bar – Welcome guests, serve refreshments, and ensure a smooth

audience experience.

Attendees will enjoy live demonstrations, theatre tours, and the chance to meet current volunteers and cast members. It’s a fun, hands-on way to discover how you can contribute your time, skills, and passion to the arts.

No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!
