Temporary Closure of Beaches to Dogs
Beaches within the Parksville Qualicum Beach Wildlife Management Area (PQBWMA) will be temporarily closed to dogs to the annual Brant geese migration. Rathtrevor Beach will be closed to dogs from February 15 to April 30. Parksville Bay Beach and Qualicum Beach from March 1 to April 30.

If I had a free day to do anything in PQB I would take the dog for a walk along the boardwalk at Parksville Beach, and let my son play at the park. Then I would have lunch at one of the awesome local restaurants like Blackbird Shnitzel House, Extreme Eatery and Realm and visit some of my favourite local shops like Shades of Green, Fireside Books and Sweet Spot Bakery.When I describe Parksville Qualicum Beach to anyone who has yet to visit, I tell them it’s the Caribbean of Canada, it is a beautiful place to visit and live.
