Evolve, a shared E-bike and E-scooter service created by BCAA (British Columbia Automobile Association), has launched in Parksville, giving locals and visitors a new way to travel between the beaches, downtown, and beyond. Evolve brings a fleet of 20 E-bikes and 30 E-scooters to more than 10 stations across Parksville, available now through October 2026. Whether you're chasing golden-hour views at the beach, taking a joyride through the forest, or running errands across town, there's a ride ready when you are.

E-Bikes

Evolve's E-bikes are electric pedal-assist, meaning the electric motor gives you a boost as you pedal. You stay in full control, the bike simply takes the effort out of hills and long stretches so you can enjoy the scenery. E-bikes are equipped with airless tires, automatic lights, turn signals, drum brakes, secure handlebar grips, a bike bell, a shared helmet, and a front basket that holds 5kg of weight for a convenient and safe ride.

E-Scooters

Throttle-powered and immediately intuitive, Evolve's E-scooters are a quick way to cover ground between Parksville's highlights. They cruise at up to 25 km/h and automatically slow in designated zones. The E-scooters are equipped with a shared helmet, automatic lights, turn signals, reflectors, and dual kickstands to keep the scooter upright.

Wear a Helmet, Know the Rules - Shared helmets can be found with every Evolve E-Bike and E-Scooter, but you may also use your own helmet. Take the Evolve Safety Quiz before your first trip to brush up on the rules of the road.

Explore on Your Schedule - Stopping for coffee or a stroll along the beach? The app's Stopover feature lets you lock your ride securely so it’ll still be there for you once you’re ready to ride again.

Return to a Parking Zone - After your adventure, park your E-bike or E-scooter at any designated Evolve Parking Zone to end the trip. The app makes it easy to find the closest zone.
