Artist Talk with Joanna Recalma Photography Exhibition
September 29, 2026 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Joanna Recalma invites audiences to explore reconciliation through a new lens—one that moves beyond discussion and toward meaningful action. Drawing on her experience as a lawyer working in litigation and policy, her role as an initiated member of the Kwakwaka'wakw Big House, and her lived experience as a mother, aunty, and daughter of the Pentlatch Nation, Joanna offers a unique perspective on the personal and collective work of reconciliation.
Through storytelling, reflection, and practical insight, she challenges audiences to reconsider long-held assumptions and empowers participants to take an active role in advancing reconciliation in their daily lives, workplaces, and communities.
