Whether your preferred boat is motored, paddled or sent sailing on the wind, Parksville Qualicum Beach is a great place to hit the water!
Explore Spider Lake (no motors, please), Cameron Lake, Horne Lake, and the Salish Sea at the pace you choose. Launch from one of 4 local marinas or from boat launches at Qualicum Beach, Cameron Lake, and Horne Lake.
Sailors, connect with like-minded folk at Schooner Cove Yacht Club. If you don't have your own watercraft, boat tours and rentals including whale watching and kayaking are readily available. And if you're hoping to bring home dinner, check out a fishing charter!
Visit Our Harbours & Marinas
Pop down to the French Creek Harbour to see a bustling marine community, complete with fresh seafood sales, charter companies, and the French Creek Marine Pub. Deep Bay Harbour has a beautiful mountain backdrop and is great for viewing birds and other sea creatures. The Schooner Cove Marina on Nanoose's Peninsula is in a unique, rocky setting, perfect for wildlife viewing.
Go Sea Kayaking
Sea kayaking in Parksville Qualicum Beach lets you escape into a different world and experience the resident Pacific harbour seals and seasonal visitors the California Sea Lions (from September to May) up close. If you're lucky, you may see Killer Whales, dolphins, and other sea creatures. Get up close to marine nature either on your own or with a guide. No experience is necessary to participate in this activity as local companies lead tours as well as rent gear.
