Have you heard the expression, "there's plenty of fish in the sea"? When it comes to the Salish Sea (formerly the Strait of Georgia), that's certainly true!

The herring run in March brings a flurry of activity off the shores of Parksville Qualicum Beach as the seiners and then the gill-netters rush to fill their fishing quotas.

Spring thru Fall offers great sport-fishing on Vancouver Island. Salmon fishing is especially popular and is certainly not limited to ocean fishing. Parksville Qualicum Beach's rivers and lakes also offer fantastic fishing experiences.
