We spoke to Tony Metivier, Manager of Pathfinder Parksville, who shared how the resort came to be. As Tony puts it, Pathfinder was “created out of our family’s love for camping and the industry’s need for a modern campground with modern-day amenities” quoting Pathfinder’s CEO and Founder, Joe Bleakley.

What does being part of the Parksville Qualicum Beach community mean to you?

"I have always been very proud of the community I live in. I believe it is important to part of the community and support it any possible way. We donate all of our refundable bottles the the Rotary Club."

What are some of your favourite things to do in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area when you’re not working?

"The community park is amazing as well as Rathtrevor Beach. I like to golf as well as curl in the offseason. Parksville Qualicum Beach has a plethora of things to do for all ages."

What surprises guests most when they arrive at Pathfinder?

"They are surprised how beautiful the river is and what an amazing hidden gem this park is."

What kind of experience do you hope guests take home?

"I hope they have enjoyed their stay and we have helped them create memories and friends."
