The French Connection is Liam Hockley - clarinet, Ron Hadley - piano, Rick Kilburn - bass, and Buff Allen - drums.

We conclude our winter series as it began, with a focus on France. The program will feature works by French composers and by famous expatriate North American musicians living in Paris, as well as timeless musical gems inspired by France and its culture.

Red Cross Standard First Aid with AED/CPR

Be prepared; get trained with a two day course in first aid and cardiopulmonary (CPR C) skills. Training includes home hazards, accident prevention, safety education, CPR level C, first aid skills for common emergencies and automated external defibrillators (AED). Retraining is recommended every three years.

Qualicum Commons, on Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, cost is $159.

The Tuesday Bird Walk on May 1, 2018 will be going to Moorcroft Regional Park in Nanoose Bay. Meet at the Parksville Community Park (near the Lions Club playground parking lot) in Parksville at 9:00 am, or at the parking lot at Moorcroft at 1563 Stewart Rd, (off Northwest Bay Road, follow signs to Moorcroft) at about 9:20 am.

Mount Horne Guided Hike

Embarking on this hike from the spectacular Cathedral Grove, this tour will take you through both man-made and natural elements that remind us of the history of the area. The scenic climb ends with a rocky scramble to the top of the bluff where you can see out to Mount Arrowsmith Massif and the Alberni Inlet. Depart from Ravensong Aquatic Centre on Saturday, May 5th at 8:00 am. $45 per person. Hike intensity rating is 1 star: long stretches of steady incline and steep terrain.
