She has been a regular participant in the Sooke Fine Arts Show, Sidney Fine Arts Show and the Oak Bay Studio Tour. She has also exhibited with colleagues at the University of Victoria in the yearly Faculty Show, at Glendale Gardens, Legacy Gallery and with “Artishow” at the Ocean Pointe Resort, Coast Harbourside Hotel and the Inn at Laurel Point.

Eaglecrest Garden Club Monthly Meeting

Melanie Penn from Bilson Creek Farm speaking on "Lavender".

Bilson Creek Farm in Metchosin was founded in 1851. When Melanie and her partners discovered the farm, it had been left fallow for decades. They could see the beauty beneath the brambles, as those years of wild growth had left behind perfect soil for growing lavender, the inspiration for the farm's flagship crop.

'Moments of Joy' Exhibition by Laurel Hibbert

Laurel Hibbert was born and raised in Lachine Quebec. She attended Macdonald College of McGill University. Upon moving to British Columbia in 1989, she attended the University of Victoria where she received a further teaching degree. Laurel taught a total of 40 years before retiring in 2009.

Upon retiring she began to paint and soon discovered that her unique style was the beginning of a new career.
