Vancouver Island's first professional choir, the Schooner Cove Singers, will present the concert: Of Boats and Music. Inspired by artist Tony Grove's paintings, which will be on display during the concert, the performance focuses on the lives and stories of those at sea.

The concert will begin with music inspired by the Psalms, including Mendelssohn's As the Hart Pants. The choir will then delve into folk songs, both classic and contemporary, and end with a song that hits home: Old Lady Rose by David Baker and arranged by Larry Nickel, named for a ship that served many B.C. residents, especially the outlying communities of the Alberni Inlet as a ferry.

Come enjoy the superb voices of the Schooner Cove Singers and the expressive accompaniment of Jenny Vincent on organ. Paintings, voices and the organ will make for a unique musical experience.
