Stroll along Craig Street in downtown Parksville on a warm summer evening to be enveloped in the lively, festive atmosphere of the Summer by the Sea Street Market.

Every Tuesday night, Craig Street transforms into a bustling outdoor market, where over 130 talented vendors showcase their unique offerings. Discover exquisite handcrafted goods, farm-fresh produce, and savoury street food at the 21st annual Summer by the Sea Street Market.

2024 Summer by the Sea Market Dates

The 2024 street market is held every Tuesday from June 4th until August 20th. The market begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. The last two markets of the season will end at 8:30 p.m. due to the earlier sunset.

  • Fresh Produce & Artisan Goods – Don't forget to bring your tote bag! You'll want to stock up on all the fresh produce and artisan goods from local farmers and merchants.
  • Food Trucks – Feeling hungry? Grab dinner at one of the food trucks. With so many delicious options to choose from, you might just have to try them all.
  • Live Music – Get ready to dance and discover your new favourite band when you visit the different stages at the market.

Getting There

Those traveling by car can find street parking around the Market area. Several streets are closed to traffic and parking between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. including Craig Street, Hirst Avenue and a portion of Middleton Avenue.

Picnic in the Plaza

Looking for even more ways fun ways to spend your Tuesday evening? Head to Memorial Plaza for Picnic in the Plaza. Every Tuesday from June 18 to August 27, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., you can order food from the market's food trucks or grab take-out from a nearby restaurant. Then, head over to Memorial Plaza and enjoy an evening filled with local buskers, kids' games, and weekly arts and crafts activities.

There will be porta-potties available at the Summer by the Sea Street Market.

Is the market pet-friendly?

Given the heat, noise, and heavy foot traffic of the market we strongly advise against bringing your pet to the street market. Service animals and pets are permitted at the owner's discretion, however, aggressive or disruptive animals or people who allow their dogs to relieve themselves in the Market vicinity will be asked to leave.

Is the market open when it rains?

The Summer by the Sea market is a rain or shine event. If it rains, just grab a raincoat and umbrella and come on down! A little drizzle won't put a damper on the festivities.

While many vendors and food trucks make regular appearances at the market, the lineup is ever-changing, with new artisans, farmers, and creators joining the festivities each week.
