Art Gems - The Art of Still Life, Soft Pastels with Faith Love-Robertson

Art Gems are a multi-faceted, hand picked selection of special workshops providing a unique experience under the instruction of well known Vancouver Island Artists.
Instructors use a variety of teaching methods, from Demo Style (watch, learn, create) to guiding individual artistic expression, and combinations of both, resulting in a unique learning outcome.
Art Gems workshops are open to all levels of experience and showcase a variety of mediums.

All materials and supplies are included in these workshops for the convenience of just enrolling, arriving and enjoying creating.
Each 4-hour workshop is $125 with all materials provided.

Class Description: The possibilities presented with Pastels to emphasize light and shadow are amazing. We will take a simple still life subject and study the effects of light on value and texture. Working in black and white and then progressing to a composition we should be able to complete a small study. We will be working on a fairly small area to transfer our composition to our final surface ( pastel paper) and work in colour, bringing our inspiration to life.
