National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Gathering & Walk

Please join us for a community gathering and walk in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Together, we can deepen our understanding of Truth and Reconciliation and reflect on what it asks of us as we shape the future of our communities. This time together offers an opportunity to learn, reflect on the history and lasting impacts of residential schools, Indian hospitals, intergenerational trauma and honour Survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home.

By gathering, walking, listening and learning together, we can continue building relationships and help shape a more respectful and hopeful future.

The day will begin at ts’xwelikwshenawtxw - a Pentlatch name meaning “the house at the foot of Mount Arrowsmith”. Everyone joining the walk is encouraged to wear an orange shirt or carry an orange shirt sign or symbol.
