Temporary Closure of Beaches to Dogs
Beaches within the Parksville Qualicum Beach Wildlife Management Area (PQBWMA) will be temporarily closed to dogs to protect migrating Black Brant geese. Rathtrevor Beach will be closed to dogs from February 15 to April 30 and Parksville Bay Beach, Qualicum Beach from March 1 to April 30.More Info

Start with a 90 minute Family Cavern Tour (not suitable for kids under 5 years old) at Horne Lake Caves. Check the Horne Lake Caves tour schedule and make a reservation to make sure you get the time you want. Try for mid-morning so you have time after for the next couple stops!
After cave exploration, you'll be hungry! It's about 45 minutes drive to Ship & Shore Cafe in Deep Bay, about half of which is just getting back to the highway. They're rumored to have the best fish & chips on Vancouver Island. Try 'em out and decide for yourself! If the sun's shining, enjoy the view of Deep Bay Marina from the patio.
