From beachfront resorts to lush gardens, the region offers a variety of stunning settings for couples to exchange their vows.
An understandably popular wedding venue in the area is Milner Gardens & Woodland, a 70-acre estate with stunning views of the Strait of Georgia. The gardens feature a mix of formal and natural landscapes, making them the perfect choice for picturesque wedding ceremonies and receptions. The venue offers several garden locations for ceremonies, all of which provide magical floral and verdant backgrounds for exchanging vows. Milner Gardens also has a covered pavilion for receptions, as well as indoor spaces for smaller weddings.
Another option for a beachfront wedding is the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort & Conference Centre. With both indoor and outdoor options, this is a great choice regardless of the season or potential weather. The seaside gazebo is a popular spot for ceremonies, with panoramic ocean views and direct access to the beach. For indoor receptions, they have a variety of options that can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Of course, you can always choose to get married right on the beach. Consider the famous Rathtrevor Beach, with its expansive ocean views and ample parking. You can reserve picnic shelters for casual picnic-esque receptions, and there are endless photo opportunities with scenic forest and beach backgrounds. If you’re looking for a simple, beautiful summer wedding option, you can’t go wrong with a beach wedding.
If you are eager to add personal touches to your wedding day and have the time to gather your bridal party before the wedding, consider venturing into the woods to pick your own greenery and flowers for your bouquet and table arrangements. There are a variety of wildflower species that perfectly match the natural beauty of the area and can be incorporated into a range of wedding styles, from bohemian to rustic. The salal plant, which can be easily found throughout the region, features dark green leaves and is a popular choice for wedding bouquet bases and centrepieces. Other popular local flowers include the Douglas Fir, Oregon Grape, and red-flowering currant.
For more traditional flower options (or during the fall and winter when there is no option to pick your own), there are several florists in the area who can provide a range of floral arrangements. Consider your budget, style, and preferences, and schedule a consultation with a florist to discuss your vision and get a sense of their style and expertise.
