Milner Gardens & Woodland

There’s nowhere else quite like VIU's Milner Gardens & Woodland – a tranquil botanical retreat where a historic estate and wild, English-inspired garden are buffered from the rest of the world by one of the last remaining stands of old-growth Coastal Douglas fir. An oasis that rejuvenates the soul while educating about and inspiring care for the natural world. A charming woodland garden that meets the ocean, leaving you with a sense of calmness and appreciation for the majesty of nature along with the artistry of horticultural vision.

Begin your visit by forest bathing in the winding woodland trails through our towering Douglas fir forest, guiding you to ten acres of botanical garden laden with rare species of Rhododendrons. Find treasures from the meaningfully curated collection of gifts and garden decor in our Pool House Gift Shop and enjoy afternoon tea at the Camellia Tea Room inside the historic Milner House - complete with a grand view of the Salish Sea and coastal mountains.

Current Garden Hours of Operation: Thursday-Sunday, 11:00am-4:30pm with viewing until 5:00pm

Current Camellia Tea Room Hours of Operation: Thursday-Sunday, 12:00pm-2:45pm with dining until 3:00pm

Please note: Only certified service dogs are permitted on the grounds and admission is required to access the Camellia Tea Room or Pool House Gift Shop.
