With so many ocean and freshwater fishing spots, Vancouver Island is an angler’s dream. Fish right off the coast, head out on an ocean fishing charter, or drop a line in one of our many lakes and rivers.

Fishing Charters are an excellent way to experience a day on the open water without worrying about the details. A fishing guide will make your expedition stress free. They’ll know all the best spots for catching your next big one and share tips and extensive knowledge on which types of bait to use. If you plan to take the kids fishing too, first check with your guide to see if they permit children onboard.

Lighthouse Country has become a well-known fly-fishing destination, both for tidal shore casting and for the famously restored Nile Creek.

There are dozens more spots along our rivers and lakes for freshwater fishing. Cameron Lake and Englishman River are two popular locations. Cameron Lake offers family-friendly park facilities and is known for brown trout, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, prickly sculpin, and kokanee, which spawn there in late fall. While fishing is not permitted within Englishman River Falls Provincial Park, you can find many spots along the river, outside of the park’s boundaries. Englishman River is known for cutthroat trout and steelhead trout. In late summer, you may find chinook salmon, and in late fall you can fish for coho salmon and chum salmon.
